Shelby City Council tables housing application, approves $9,765 sludge program renewal

Shelby City Council voted on Nov. 4 to table a housing application and to continue the city's sludge-management contract.

Council member Jackie Hursey moved to table the housing application submitted by Brandon Michalski until the city receives both the housing application and a separate building application; Pat Honeywell seconded the motion, which passed on a roll-call vote with all members recorded as voting aye. The council did not take further action on the application at the meeting.

The council also approved continuation of the sludge program with contractor Team Lab at a cost of $9,765. Council member Pat Honeywell moved the contract continuation; Karen Schlueter seconded, and the motion carried on a roll-call vote with all ayes. The contract amount was noted as previously approved in this year's budget.

Earlier in the meeting the council approved the Nov. 4 agenda and the consent agenda, which included minutes of Oct. 7 and Oct. 21, 2025, the treasurer's report and payment of bills. Corrections to the March 18, 2025 minutes were recorded as part of the consent action. Each of those motions was approved by roll call with all members voting in the affirmative.

No votes recorded in the minutes showed nay or abstain votes. The meeting opened at 7:00 p.m. and adjourned at 8:12 p.m.
