Shelby City Council unanimously approves pickleball court repairs and tile replacement in special session

Mayor Ron Kroll presided over a special meeting of the Shelby City Council on Oct. 31, 2025, at which council members unanimously approved two contracts for repairs to city recreation facilities.

Councilmember Pat Honeywell moved to approve the Oct. 31 agenda, and Jackie Hursey seconded; the motion passed on a roll-call vote of all ayes. Mayor Ron Kroll then asked whether any council member had a conflict of interest; none were declared.

On a motion by Councilmember Todd Frank, seconded by Councilmember Pat Honeywell, the council approved a $23,132.50 contract with Ten Point Construction for repairs to the city's pickleball courts. Council members noted that a previously installed tar surface was "bubbling up" and directed that the contractor address and resolve that issue as part of the repairs.

Councilmember Pat Honeywell moved, and Jackie Hursey seconded, approval of a $3,800 bid from Tri State snap sports to pull up and replace tile. That motion also passed on a roll-call vote of all ayes.
