SARB approves projecting and wall signs for 123 E. Main Ave

The Shopping Area Redevelopment Board voted 5-0 on June 11 to approve an application to install multiple signs at 123 E. Main Ave submitted by Midwest Sign Company on behalf of applicant Koele Godfrey. Board members Barnes, Dick, Gentry, VanKampen and Chairman Vos voted in favor; Bult and VanHoven were absent.

Marketing Director deRoo summarized the proposal, saying the request was "to install one lit projecting sign, 9 SF, one non-lit projecting sign, 4 SF, one non-lit wall sign, 15.75 SF, and a wall plaque at 2.67 SF." deRoo added the signs would be black and white, would include front and rear signs where applicable, and meet zoning requirements. Board members raised no objections during the hearing.

A motion to close the public hearing was made by Board member Gentry and supported by Barnes at 9:11 a.m.; Barnes then moved, supported by Gentry, to approve the signs. The board recorded the following vote: Ayes: Barnes, Dick, Gentry, VanKampen, Vos; Nayes: None; Absent: Bult, VanHoven. The motion carried.
