Elections staff report a slight dip in registrations, set audit and voting dates

Steve McCannon, listed in the minutes as election staff, reported June 2025 registration numbers: 11,646 active voters and 709 inactive voters, for a total of 12,355 — a net decrease of 10 voters compared with the prior report (a loss of 21 active voters and an increase of 11 inactive voters).

Marilyn Huff-Waller, also listed under election staff, said GAVERO dues for the office have been paid at $45 each and that dues will increase next year. Huff-Waller outlined the office calendar: a risk-limiting audit for the Democratic special primary runoff is scheduled for July 24, 2025; a Region 5 meeting will be held July 31 in Oconee County; the GAVERO conference is Aug. 10–14 in Savannah; advanced voting for the General/Special Election will run Oct. 14–31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and the General/Special Election is scheduled for Nov. 4 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The meeting record also notes brief agenda items including "Public Service Commissioner," "Floating Local Option Sales Tax (FLOST)," and "ESLPOST," but no discussion of those items appears in the transcript. No members of the public registered comments during the meeting. Attendance listed Beverly Nation (Chair), George Gray (pledge leader), Secretary Carla D.
