Toina Vickers and her attorney met with the Early City Council on July 6 to clarify confusion over a temporary structure and previously issued permits for a proposed coffee shop. Councilors heard that changes had been made to the parcel and that previously issued temporary-structure permits had been misunderstood.
Vickers told the council she will refile a building permit with updated dimensions and a description of the other structural work planned for the parcel. The council approved building permit #782 pending final approval of the Planning and Zoning Committee on a motion by Councilor Brian Pickhinke, seconded by Councilor Bill Cougill; the vote was recorded by show of hands as unanimous.
The council and Ms. Vickers agreed to meet again at the September council meeting to review the revised permit and any outstanding issues. No specific construction schedule or permit conditions were recorded in the minutes; the Planning and Zoning Committee must give final approval before work proceeds.
