At the end of the special meeting the Richmond Select Board approved a transfer to move a planned paving expense into the next fiscal year after the contractor said it could not meet the June 30 deadline.
Select board member Greg moved to transfer roughly $101,000 from the fiscal year 2026 highway budget to fiscal year 2027 to account for the contractor’s scheduling conflict; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call. During the discussion town staff explained the contractor had multiple projects and weather and scheduling conflicts prevented completion before the end of the fiscal year.
Town staff said the money being moved had already been approved in budget allocations and that the adjustment simply aligns spending with the new work timing. Pete (town staff) said the contractor "couldn't meet the deadline of June 30th" and the work has been rescheduled to mid‑July.
The board’s roll call recorded the motion as carried with members identifying themselves in the affirmative: Greg (yes), David (yes), Bard (yes) and Rick (yes). No further debate occurred and the board then moved to adjournment.
