The Selectmen opened bids for the SHIP grant-funded Colwell ramp Pier project and, following the municipal engineer's review, awarded the contract to the low bidder, Skip Eaton.
Bids received included Dugas Construction and Skip Eaton. The town engineer reviewed quantities and completeness and recommended awarding to the low, complete bid. The minutes record: "Motion by John Robbins, 2nd by Travis to accept Skip Eaton's low bid for Pier project." The motion carried unanimously.
The Selectmen authorized the TM to move forward with contract execution and procurement steps consistent with the SHIP grant requirements.
Why it matters: the Colwell ramp and pier are public marine facilities used by residents and visiting fishermen. SHIP-funded repairs and upgrades can extend the useful life of infrastructure and support safe access.
What’s next: contract administration and scheduling; further construction will proceed consistent with tidal schedules and grant compliance requirements.
