The St. John the Baptist Parish School Board on Jan. 16 authorized multiple procurement actions, approved several revised job descriptions and received updates on insurance and capital‑bond projects.
Motions passed to authorize administration to advertise for general maintenance supplies, request quotes to repair property behind East St. John Prep, advertise for awards/incentives and T‑shirts, advertise for a bus‑parts supplier and enter into a one‑year preventive maintenance contract for boilers. Most motions passed with unanimous or near‑unanimous roll‑call votes; details and vote tallies are recorded in the minutes.
Dr. Kimberly Johnson presented revised job descriptions. The Board approved updated job descriptions for Payroll Clerk, External Programs Clerk and Staff Accountant; each passed with 9 yeas, 1 nay (Burl) and 1 absent (Triche) where recorded.
Mr. Anthony Miller and representatives from Sedgwick briefed the board on the status of insurance reimbursement for Hurricane Ida and announced the Jan. 30 workshop would be converted to a meeting to accept the final insurance settlement. Miller also presented an update from Volkert on the bond capital projects, providing slide materials and status notes.
Late in the meeting several members left, and the president declared there was no longer a quorum. The meeting adjourned at 9:09 p.m.
