The Board of Public Works and Safety opened bids June 26 for a planned water and sewer extension and took all complete proposals under advisement for award at the board’s July 10 meeting.
A Commonwealth representative read proposals from multiple contractors for the base project and a mandatory alternate for manhole lining. Bidders included CE Excavating Inc., FMK (listed in the record as FNK/FM K) Construction, G&D Hauling & Excavating, Haskins Underground, HRC Construction, Willpower Excavating & Bulldozing and Yarberry Inc. One outside envelope from Lease Excavating & Hauling LLC did not include a required bid bond and therefore was not read into the record or considered complete.
During the bid opening staff confirmed that submitted bids were signed, that addenda acknowledgments had been included, and that bid bonds were present for the bidders read into the record. The board unanimously approved a motion by Mr. Mayor to take the seven complete bids under advisement and to consider awards at the July 10 meeting at 8:30 a.m.
No contract awards were made at the June 26 meeting; the board will revisit the bids and documentation at the July 10 meeting before taking any procurement action.
