Cabell County Commission approves administrative items, senior-levy funding and multiple emergency-services hires

At its May 29 meeting the Cabell County Commission handled a range of administrative and personnel actions.

Commissioners unanimously approved Purchase Orders #26-133456 through #26-133651 and monthly P-Card payments, and recorded two handwritten checks (Unum $12,923.15; Guardian $21,950.76). They also placed on record meeting minutes for Salt Rock Water PSD, Salt Rock Sewer PSD and the Cabell County Regional Plant Operating Committee, and recorded a letter from Woda Cooper Companies regarding the Victory Place proposed low-income housing tax-credit property.

The commission approved $30,000 in additional senior levy funding for Eastern Cabell County Humanities Organization, Inc. (ECCHO). Chad Nelson, Planning Administrator, explained proposed Cabell County Unsafe Building Enforcement Agency (CCUBEA) enforcement letters, which the commission approved. Nazim Abbess, 911 Director, explained a proposed FY 2024 EMPG grant application; the commission approved forwarding the application. A resolution listing multiple EMT hires, per-diem appointments and reclassifications was approved by unanimous vote. A sheriff’s letter recommending the employment of Matthew Denning as a full-time Home Confinement Officer was also approved.

All listed motions were moved and seconded by commissioners and carried unanimously in the public record.
