Caribou council honors CCS and CHS show choirs for state achievements

The Caribou City Council took time at its June 29 meeting to recognize members of the Caribou Community School (CCS) and Caribou High School (CHS) show choirs for recent competitive successes.

Mayor and councilors called students forward, presented certificates and posed for group photographs. The council noted that the middle-school choir won a choreography award and that students including Camila and Bailey received musicianship awards; the high school also saw individual recognitions.

Mrs. Hunter, the groups' adviser, thanked the council and noted soloist and musicianship awards across both groups, saying many students "had outstanding musicianship awards" and highlighting the time and parental support behind the programs. The council commended program staff, students and volunteers for supporting a long-standing local performing-arts tradition.

The council's recognition is ceremonial; no funding vote or policy action accompanied the presentation. Certificates for program assistants were left with Mrs. Hunter for distribution to staff unable to attend.
