The Crosslake Public Safety Commission on Feb. 4 recorded a $15,000 donation from the Lions Club to the police department, which Jake Maier said will be used to build a department gym. Maier also said the American Legion is expected to contribute funds to upgrade department rifles and optics.
Chief Chip Lohmiller told the commission that work on a public safety agreement or PSA with North Ambulance is "in limbo" and that no meetings are scheduled until March; the discussion was tabled pending further scheduling. "They are in limbo. No meetings scheduled until March," the record states.
During roundtable discussion Aaron Herzog raised a parking issue on Co. Rd. 66 in front of the Railroad Museum; Maier said organizers had asked people not to park there while plowing occurred and that the problem corrected itself. Lohmiller reported several new members have joined the fire department, a new tender will be built this year, and some cold storage is being converted into warm storage.
The commission also approved minutes from its Dec. 3, 2025 meeting (motion by Aaron Herzog, seconded by Bob Heales). The meeting adjourned at 9:41 a.m. after a motion by Robin Sylvester, seconded by Maiers; the record indicates the motion was made and the meeting ended at that time.
