Veterans Park site work underway; town reports about $30,000 raised

Mayor James Nix said the Chattahoochee Group has begun site work on the Clermont Veterans Park and that the town has received about $30,000 in donations toward the project.

The update, given during the Town Council meeting on Feb. 5, noted the town has recorded roughly 41 brick orders and that two benches have been sponsored. Nix said the timeline depends on weather, with possible completion in April.

The Veterans Park is being assembled through a mix of donations and sponsorships; council members did not take formal action on the project during the meeting. Mayor Nix said the town is still seeking sponsors to cover remaining needs and will continue fundraising and site work as weather permits.

The council reviewed the report but did not vote on additional funding at the Feb. 5 session.
