Subcommittee votes to rescind two outdated policies, approves meeting minutes

The Sudbury Select Board Policies and Procedures Subcommittee recommended rescinding two long-standing policies and approved meeting minutes during its Dec. 29, 2025 virtual meeting.

The Subcommittee voted 2-0 to recommend rescinding the Town Trust Fund Investment Policy and Investment Guidelines dated June 28, 1999 after Town Manager Andy Sheehan told members that a Comprehensive Investment Policy adopted by the Board in September consolidated investment matters into a single document. Member Lisa Kouchakdjian moved the recommendation and Member Dan Carty seconded; both members said "aye."

The panel also voted 2-0 to recommend rescinding the Training for Dispensers and Sellers of Alcoholic Beverages policy dated June 10, 2000. Sheehan said the subject is covered by existing alcohol rules and regulations and suggested relying on those rules rather than a separate policy; Member Carty asked that oversight remain within the Select Board's purview.

Procedural motions to approve the Dec. 20, 2024 and Sept. 22, 2025 meeting minutes passed 2-0. The meeting adjourned at 10:07 a.m. on a motion by Member Dan Carty, seconded by Member Lisa Kouchakdjian.

What happens next: The Subcommittee's recommendations will be transmitted to the full Select Board for final action and any further direction.
