Upper Darby board announces vacancy after Glenn’s resignation; administrators to advertise position

Board President Murphy Marsy informed the board that Director Kimberly Glenn submitted a resignation without an explicit effective date; the board set the resignation effective immediately prior to the reorganization week scheduled for Nov. 30, 2025 and directed administration to advertise the vacancy.

“Her term was to expire on December 2027. So, the board will need to appoint a new board member to fill the vacancy,” the board president said, reading the notice and instructing administrators to solicit letters of interest, schedule interviews and set a timeline for appointments.

Board members did not take a vote at the meeting to fill the seat; the administration will post the vacancy and report back on the application schedule and next steps so the board can consider appointments during its reorganization process.

The announcement included timeline guidance: advertising to begin effective Nov. 30, 2025 with interviews to follow. No reasons for the resignation beyond the notice were discussed on the record at this meeting.
