Station update: grant invoices due, EMPG reimbursement delayed, radios and July 4 coverage planned

During internal reports S4 updated the board on operations, grant closeout activity and event coverage.

S4 said the department logged 42 calls for the month and will submit final invoices for existing DOD grant projects; for ongoing projects invoices can be submitted through Sept. 25. S4 also said the department is owed roughly $38,000 for an EMPG grant reimbursement that is temporarily on hold. “We’re still owed roughly $38,000 for that grant,” S4 said.

The department is updating radio programming after Amherst and Capillary fire departments changed frequencies; Chris is inventorying radios and preparing code‑plug updates for the vendor. S4 noted July 4 staffing is covered and that a host testing is scheduled for July 15 with Captain Segan leading the effort. The Millennium Running event on Aug. 23 requested ambulance coverage and organizers offered to pay for details to avoid taxpayer costs.
