Millis superintendent announces IDEA fiscal monitoring returned no findings

Superintendent Robert Mullaney told the Millis School Committee on June 29 that the district received a fiscal monitoring letter for IDEA Part B (tier-two cyclical monitoring) and that the audit returned no findings.

"I'm very happy to report that we received notice today" Mullaney said as he described the financial audit outcome and thanked staff for their work preparing the materials. He singled out Shaileen Volpe, the special education office and student services staff and support staff for their role in the process.

Mullaney said the letter came in the packet that day and that receiving an audit with no findings is positive for the district's special-education fiscal compliance. Committee members thanked staff; no formal action was required or taken on the item during the meeting.

Administrators did not provide the full monitoring report text in the meeting; the committee was told the letter is included in the packet and that staff will continue routine compliance and documentation work.
