Lindbergh Schools honors electrician Mike Gillum as 2025–2026 support staff person of the year; student rep praises international trips

The Lindbergh Schools Board of Education honored Mike Gillum as the district's 2025–2026 support staff person of the year on June 16, recognizing his work as an electrician and his role in keeping school facilities safe and operational. Scott Barbagallo introduced the recognition and described Gillum as "dependable, hardworking, and always willing to help," noting his responsiveness to urgent maintenance issues and planned projects.

The board also heard a student representative report from Stella Pelarito. Pelarito described recent international travel opportunities sponsored by the district, saying the trips (including a Spanish-class trip to Costa Rica and a separate Paris trip) provided impactful experiences for students. "I think it's incredible how Lindbergh can provide these experiences for us students to travel out of the country," Pelarito said, and she said she looks forward to meeting students from elementary and middle schools in August.
