Board approves Raj Investments Route 209 landscaping grant; two other applications tabled

The Middle Smithfield Township Board of Supervisors reviewed three Route 209 revitalization grant applications and took separate actions: it tabled the GJR LLC application for further discussion at a workshop, approved the Raj Investments landscaping project covering approximately 250–300 feet of Route 209 frontage, and tabled the Ginion Temple request to allow time for more applicants to be considered.

Township staff recommended the Raj Investments proposal as a good fit for the township’s main‑street beautification and revitalization program. A board member moved to proceed with that project and the motion passed.

The board also agreed to discuss the GJR LLC application at the workshop the following day and to revisit the Ginion Temple request after receiving additional project proposals so that allocation of limited grant resources could be balanced among potential applicants.

Next steps: staff will coordinate the Raj Investments project implementation and will place the GJR LLC application on the upcoming workshop agenda for further consideration.
