Organizer Lauren updated the Downtown Development Authority on preparations for the Lether (Lathrup) Village Music Festival, reporting that the vendor quote to provide backline equipment and on‑stage support was $1,625 and that the combined stage/backline price remains under budget.
"Combined this price 1625 is under budget," Lauren said, adding that the vendor offers delivery, setup, pickup and technician support. The DDA voted to authorize the director to sign an agreement to secure the equipment.
Lauren also said sponsorship momentum is strong: she reported roughly $41,700 in sponsorship agreements on the books with about $34,000 collected so far and another $5,000 estimated as pending. The festival has expanded vendor participation to 45 vendors this year, up from 22 last year, and organizers confirmed five food trucks and a family activity zone.
Why it matters: festival revenue and vendor participation help underwrite event costs and drive local foot traffic for businesses in the DDA district. Organizers said they are curating vendors to avoid duplication, are prioritizing kid‑oriented activities in the family area and will provide a QR code on mailed postcards and other materials to capture survey and event responses.
Next steps: the organizer said she will follow up with prospective sponsors about activation details and will return to the DDA with any material contract or sponsorship changes. The equipment contract will be executed by the director per the authorization vote.
