Andrew Braun told the Peoria County board that round two of public engagement for the county's comprehensive plan recently concluded and that the online survey will remain available until July 8, after which staff will convert input into a draft plan for presentation to the board in August.
Braun said the round included poster boards and in-person public feedback. "Turnout was decent. Not as good as we'd like, but we still had a good amount of public input," he said, adding that staff is grateful for the board's opportunity to share the information.
The update did not include specific participation counts or policy changes; Braun said the next step is to compile responses into a draft and bring that draft back to the board. No formal decisions were made at the meeting. The timing matters because the draft will inform future land-use goals and strategy items being considered by county staff and the board.
The board did not ask for any additional materials during the update. Staff indicated the plan presentation is scheduled for August and that the online engagement period ends July 8.
