Fireworks can be fun but also risky, Sedgwick County said in a public service announcement urging residents to keep a water supply close by, allow spent fireworks to cool before disposing of them in a metal container and to call the county's non-emergency line for fireworks and noise complaints. The message noted that fireworks cause thousands of fires and injuries each year and closed by wishing listeners a safe holiday.
