Selectmen accept low bid from Skip Eaton for SHIP-funded Pier repairs

The Town of Stonington accepted a low bid from Skip Eaton to complete pier repairs under a SHIP grant after the town engineer reviewed the bids and confirmed completeness.

At the meeting the TM reported two bids were opened: Dugas Construction ($97,590.30) and Skip Eaton ($92,478.72). The town engineer recommended the low bid as complete and ready for award. Selectman John Robbins moved to accept the low bid from Skip Eaton; Selectman Travis Fifield seconded the motion and the board voted 5-0 to award the contract.

Town staff said work will proceed under the grant specifications and the contractor will be required to comply with MDOT and SHIP project requirements. The award authorizes contract execution and the TM to complete any administrative steps necessary to begin work.
