The Mount Lebanon Resiliency Advisory Board voted on June 24 to reorganize its standing committees, elect Rick Saba as vice chairman and dissolve the historic preservation subcommittee as part of a broader workshop on committee roles and priorities. Chair opened the business and asked members to formalize committee assignments.
Board members agreed to three core standing committees—sustainability, an economic/commercial-vitality committee, and a third group to address preservation, design and what members called "civic health" or "civic vitality." The board directed each subcommittee to meet over the next month, produce a short set of priorities tied to the municipal comp plan, and report back at the July meeting so staff can compile a work plan. "So homework would be for each subcommittee to meet, come up with set of priorities, and report it back," a committee member said.
During the meeting the board held several formal motions. A motion to make Rick Saba vice chair was moved and voted by voice; members responded "aye" and the chair declared the motion carried. A member proposed dissolving the historic preservation subcommittee, saying many of its responsibilities were being duplicated by the historical society; that motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The meeting closed after a motion to adjourn passed by voice vote.
Staff said it will email committee rosters and follow up on membership. The board also agreed to use the comp plan as the "north star" for committee priorities and to invite non-board ad hoc members to participate where appropriate.
