New Harborview owner gets Selectmen approval for leased outdoor space; special-amusement application reviewed

At the April 19 meeting new Harborview Restaurant owner Gail Stinson appeared before the Selectmen seeking permission to lease the town-owned area in front of her deck so she can expand outdoor seating in the event COVID-related capacity limits require it.

Town Manager Billings confirmed the special-amusement application had been advertised in the local newspaper and that no public comments were received. The Selectmen expressed support for giving the proprietor flexibility to use the deck area during the summer months; a motion to approve lease space was made by John Steed, seconded by John Robbins, and carried 4–0 with one member absent.

Board members discussed term lengths and said they could set incremental periods (for example, June through September) and tailor the lease dates in the formal agreement. TM Billings will draft lease language and return it for board approval and signature.

The Selectmen also handled standard business that evening, including approving minutes and warrants by voice vote.
