The Heard County Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted the 2017-2018 fiscal year budget at its June 27 meeting after Chairman Lee Boone read the budget resolution into the minutes.
Commissioner Keri Denney moved to approve the budget resolution; Commissioner Gwen Caldwell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The transcript records the budget resolution being read into the minutes but does not include dollar amounts or line-item details.
The board also handled routine personnel business. Chairman Boone noted that Willie Bradfield's term on the Heard County Board of Family and Children Services (DFACS) expires June 30, 2017; Bradfield requested reappointment. On motion by Commissioner Joe Adams and second by Commissioner Larry Hooks, the board unanimously approved Bradfield's reappointment.
Chairman Boone further noted that Dustin Pate's appointment to the Heard County Board of Tax Assessors expires July 23, 2017 and that Pate wished to continue serving. On motion by Commissioner Gwen Caldwell and second by Commissioner Keri Denney, the board unanimously reappointed Dustin Pate to the Board of Tax Assessors.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved minutes for May 23, 2017 (Denney/Hammond) and June 13, 2017 (Hooks/Adams). With no old business and no executive session, the board adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
