Kristen (presenting CACTUS updates) told participants that CACTUS will be taken offline at noon June 30 and is scheduled to return the morning of July 8; no updates for the 2025–26 school year will be allowed after the June 30 downtime. She said USIMS will take over LEA functionality in mid‑August and that USIMS staff will reach out to current users about accounts.
Kristen cautioned that USIMS “will not have the functionality to upload the teacher files,” so LEAs that rely on the state to load large bulk files need to get those files to the state before the transfer so they can be migrated into CACTUS and then transferred to USIMS. She said ALEs requests and some LEA functionality will remain available through EOSIMS or CACTUS during the transition period.
Why it matters: the CACTUS→USIMS transition affects when and how LEAs can submit large bulk files (teacher uploads) and may require scheduling or earlier submissions to avoid losing a window to load files before migration. LEAs that need bulk loading were advised to coordinate with the team named in the presentation before the CACTUS downtime.
