City Council, Ames School Board to hold a joint work session and tour at the Ames Center

Mayor John Haila and host Bill Gephardt said the City Council will hold a joint work session with the Ames Community School District School Board at the Ames Center, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The session will include a tour of the recently remodeled facility and a discussion of shared goals and priorities, enrollment projections, PK and beyond programming, and how those factors relate to housing and community planning.

Haila emphasized the meeting is a work session — intended for conversation and exchange rather than formal action — and that it is open to the public. He noted the session is slated to last about 90 minutes and that the Ames Center does not have livestreaming or recording facilities for this meeting, so in-person attendance will be required for those who wish to observe.
