The Westfield Common Council on June 26 adopted Resolution 26-143, a routine review finding that certain property owners are in substantial compliance with commitments tied to tax-abatement approvals.
David Brock of the city’s Economic Development Department told the council the department reviewed the attached CF1 forms — the statement-of-benefits documentation referenced in the resolution — and concluded the property owners examined “are in substantial compliance” with their previously approved commitments. “We ask that you find the same,” Brock said.
The resolution fulfills the council’s annual responsibility under the Indiana tax abatement statute to verify compliance with approved statements of benefits and CF1 filings, Brock said. No substantive questions or challenges were raised by council members during the presentation.
Council member Noah Herren moved to approve Resolution 26-143; Council member Victor Mccardi seconded. A roll call recorded Chad Huff, Noah Herren, Victor Mccardi and Patrick Tam voting in favor, and the motion carried with four affirmative votes.
The council did not detail which specific property owners or projects the CF1s covered in the public meeting record. Documents attached to the resolution and the CF1 forms themselves were cited as the evidentiary basis for the compliance finding.
With the vote complete, the council moved on to other business and adjourned, and no residents addressed the council during the posted public-comment period.
