Pasadena Fire Department opens applications for paid paramedic intern program

Kelly O'Rourke reported that the Pasadena Fire Department opened applications June 18 for its Paramedic Intern Program.

The segment described the program as a paid internship that offers hands-on EMS experience and enrollment in an accredited paramedic school at no cost to the candidate. Interns are compensated for about 20 hours per week while gaining experience on department rescue ambulances and completing paramedic preparation training.

Upon successful completion and receipt of paramedic certification, paramedic interns may be eligible to attend the Pasadena Fire Department basic training drill tower academy and pursue full-time firefighter paramedic roles.
