The Measure B Residents Oversight Committee agreed to present its annual report to City Council in the fall and selected Tuesday, Oct. 6 (first meeting in October) as the target presentation date.
Staff said last year’s report and the original PowerPoint will be circulated so members can make edits in a working session at an upcoming committee meeting. Committee members agreed that one or two representatives could give the presentation at City Council while the broader group contribute to materials in advance; staff asked members to provide headshots and any updated content for the slides.
An attorney or legal advisor on the call cautioned that recent changes to Brown Act guidance broaden the types of events that can be deemed a Brown Act meeting. "So now even events like state of the city qualify for Brown Act meeting, so this presentation would qualify as a Brown Act meeting," the advisor said, and recommended that fewer than a quorum of the oversight committee be present at the Council meeting to avoid triggering additional notice requirements. Staff said they will coordinate with the clerk’s office, put the presentation on the committee agenda for a working session and send the materials to members ahead of the scheduled presentation date.
The committee also asked staff to invite the parks development manager to the next meeting to provide a project update that will inform the presentation to Council.
