The Oak Grove School District Board of Trustees approved the 2026–27 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and adopted the district's 2026–27 annual budget at its June 25 meeting.
Assistant Superintendent Anna presented the LCAP during the required public hearing and described five board goals supporting student proficiency, equitable practices, inclusive services for students with disabilities, family engagement and safe classroom environments. After a motion and second, the board approved the plan by roll-call vote.
Associate Superintendent Mark Evans presented the 2026–27 budget alongside the LCAP. Evans said the budget had been posted for public review, advertised in the newspaper, and presented at a public hearing the prior week; he told trustees the district expects a positive county rating based on a three-year outlook. The board moved, seconded and adopted the budget by roll call.
In a package of largely noncontroversial consent and business items, trustees also approved a bundled set of school modernization items (agenda items 7.3–7.5), an amendment to the 2025–26 executive salary schedule (item 7.6) to provide retroactive adjustments effective July 1, 2025, and amendments to executive employment agreements. The superintendent’s agreement (item 7.7) was extended to a term of July 1, 2026–June 30, 2029 and set to the salary schedule’s step 3. The board approved an amendment extending Associate Superintendent of Human Resources Amy Bowles’ agreement through June 30, 2029 with the salary set at step 6 (year 6 of longevity), and approved an amendment extending Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Janae Ena’s agreement through June 30, 2029 at step 6.
Superintendent Dr. Ivan Cheydas recommended approval of the consent agenda, which included an agreement with CSEA for 2026–27 that provides a 4.5% parity salary increase. Trustees moved, seconded and approved the consent agenda.
All actions were presented to the board, put to motion and passed at the June 25 meeting. Where a roll-call was read, the clerk recorded affirmative votes and the meeting minutes state each motion “carries.” The board adjourned at 7:08 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Sept. 10, 2026.
Notes: The board reported no action from closed session items on labor negotiations (Gov. Code §54957.6) or the superintendent’s performance evaluation.
