Board approves personnel lists, supplemental contracts and student-support agreements

Wyoming City Schools board members approved superintendent recommendations for personnel, supplemental contracts and several service agreements covering specialized student supports.

The superintendent presented a list of 2026–27 personnel recommendations including hires for teaching and counseling positions (for example, Samantha Dodie for fifth-grade math, Leah Ynkins as a primary intervention specialist, Allison Utra as a high-school English teacher, and Christopher Wells returning as a part-time French teacher). The board congratulated the new employees.

Staff explained the supplemental-contract process: a district supplemental committee evaluates requests using a rubric tied to student numbers and responsibilities; many leadership roles (department chairs, building-leadership team members) and approved clubs receive percentages of base salary as supplemental pay, while brand-new or small clubs sometimes start with volunteer advisors until participation warrants paid supplementals. "It's a percentage of the base salary," staff said when asked about the listed supplemental percentages.

The board reviewed athletic supplementals and three additions from the late blue sheet — varsity baseball head coach, boys soccer assistant coach, and girls golf head coach for the high school — and approved those additions as part of the supplemental list.

The board also reviewed student-program items including Sources of Strength, described as a peer-led wellness and suicide-prevention initiative with adult advisers supporting student-led monthly campaigns to build school climate. The board approved a recommended overnight choir trip to Disney scheduled for February of the 2026–27 year, with staffing and trip logistics to follow normal authorization procedures.

On student-support contracts, the superintendent presented annual agreements to secure specialized services: a Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services contract, Warren County Educational Service Center contracts for transitional and wellness services, and a Best Point educational behavioral health contract to assist students with intensive behavioral needs and help transition them back to district schools.

After motions and seconds, the board approved the superintendent’s personnel and contract recommendations in a roll-call vote as read.

What happens next: staff will finalize supplemental contract assignments, complete trip authorization paperwork, and proceed with annual service contracts for specialized student supports.
