Planning board recommends rezoning for Fern Creek Academy to quorum court

The Pulaski County Planning Board voted at its June 25 meeting to forward a resolution recommending the quorum court approve the Fern Creek Academy rezoning application (PZ 26‑6).

Planning staff summarized the application as a rezoning of an existing R‑2 property formerly in the Little Rock extraterritorial jurisdiction to allow establishment of a private micro school. Staff reported required public notice had been posted and mailed and said no adjacent property owners had lodged complaints.

Board member Speaker 6 moved to forward the recommendation to the quorum court; Speaker 7 seconded. The chair called for an audible vote, heard aye responses and declared the motion carried. The board’s action is advisory; the quorum court retains final authority to adopt or reject the ordinance.

Next steps: staff will draft the resolution and submit the recommendation to the quorum court for consideration.
