NRC approves minutes, several minor modifications and Certificates of Compliance; signs municipal certification for CR amendment

The Natural Resources Commission handled a range of routine business at its June meeting.

Governance and routine votes: the commission approved the April 1, 2026 minutes by voice vote; it reappointed Susan Clark and Sarah Strong to the Haywood Meadow Stewardship Committee with terms expiring May 31, 2029. The commission also approved minor modifications allowing voluntary invasive‑plant removal at 61 Lindsey Pond Road and 124 Tarbell Spring Road; both motions passed unanimously.

Certificates of compliance: after staff review and follow‑up with project teams, the commission voted to issue Certificates of Compliance for three Massachusetts Port Authority projects (DEP files cited in the record) and for 61 Sunnyside Lane (DEP file 137‑1620).

Conservation restriction amendment: trustees representing a property at 216 Westford Road requested an amendment to a 2009 conservation restriction to correct a mapping oversight and to allow an 18‑foot vegetated planting area along the field edge. The state Division of Conservation Services has reviewed the amendment; the commission moved to sign a municipal certification supporting the amendment and to recommend select board approval.

Next steps: staff will distribute the signed municipal certification to town officials and continue to track COC paperwork and minor‑modification follow-up.
