The Rock County Board on June 25 adopted a resolution recognizing Janet Verba for 33 years of service in the clerk of courts office.
The board read a resolution describing Verba's career from March 15, 1993 through her recent retirement and memorialized her reputation as a "resident expert" and mentor within the traffic division. "It is my highest honor to stand here tonight to recognize, remember, and celebrate the extraordinary life and service of our dear friend Janet Verba," Amanda Nelson, Rock County Clerk of Court, told the board and attendees as she accepted the resolution on the county's behalf. Nelson noted Verba's mentorship, dedication and the warm relationships she forged with coworkers and members of the public.
Board members and Verba's coworkers spoke about her institutional knowledge and how much she will be missed; family members accepted the resolution on her behalf.
What happens next: the resolution is entered into the county record; colleagues said they plan internal memorials and to preserve Verba's institutional contributions in office procedures and training.
