At a continued June 24, 2026 hearing, the Town Zoning Board of Appeals took public comment and reviewed a fire-department assessment for a proposed dwelling served by private Daisy Lane.
Peter Chanella, speaking as the representative for owner Christina Bayz, summarized the applicant’s plan to bring modular sections to the site and described contact with the Roosevelt Fire District. Reading from a letter, Chanella said the fire district determined that “the private roadway at Daisy Lane is acceptable for fire apparatus access if improved to meet all the following conditions,” and then outlined four conditions: widen the private roadway to a minimum of 12 feet and grade it for a reasonably level surface, trim and continuously maintain overgrowth, ensure the roadway can support a fire truck in all weather with ongoing maintenance including snow removal, and limit the proposed driveway grade to no greater than 10 percent.
Jason Lindell, a nearby resident who said he lives at 124 Reservoir Road and maintains and plows Daisy Lane, told the board he has “no issue,” that he manages the road for family members, and that other residents who live along the lane likewise do not object. Lindell’s comment was the only public comment at the hearing.
Board members asked whether the applicant’s right-of-way reached down to North Cross and discussed documenting that the right-of-way is available for applicant use. The board also reviewed construction logistics Chanella described—concrete trucks, delivery trailers and a crane—and asked the applicant to reflect the fire-district conditions in submitted plans.
The board continued the public hearing to July 22, 2026 to allow the applicant to supply any required documentation and revised plans and to give neighbors and interested parties time to submit comments.
