Negotiators for Topeka Public Schools and employee representatives reached a tentative agreement during the session to add notice requirements for representation at enrollment-plan meetings.
Meeting participant (S2) said the district was "ready to TA the article 20," describing the proposed process that requires 48 hours' notice from the employee for representation at initial and final enrollment-plan meetings and 24 hours' notice from the union or representative back to the administrator naming who will attend. Presenter (S1) agreed to add the wording to Article 20 and circulate the updated draft.
The teams agreed to distribute the revised Article 20 language for review and to continue bargaining on other outstanding items at their next scheduled meeting.
Next steps: Updated Article 20 text to be prepared and circulated; follow-up bargaining scheduled for July 13.
