Stonington selectmen continue review of CCI/Consolidated broadband contract

Town Manager Kathleen Billings‑Pezaris briefed the selectmen on a proposed public‑private agreement with CCI (Consolidated) intended to expand broadband access in Stonington.

Selectman Travis Fifield said he had not received the draft contract before the meeting and asked TM to resend it; TM delivered the document during the Zoom session. TM said CCI representatives (including Jeff Nevins in prior calls) and town staff had discussed technical scope and that specific language and a timeline would arrive in the coming weeks. Board members stressed they needed time to review the contract and clarifications, particularly on scope, cost allocations for remote terminals and any clauses that would obligate the town to additional site work.

No final vote was taken at the meeting; the board indicated it will review the contract in detail once members have had time to read it and will ask TM to follow up with CCI on unresolved questions.
