Selectmen approve adding easement for Penn Rhodeen’s discharge under Indian Point Road

Town Manager Kathleen Billings‑Pezaris said she had advised Rhodeen to secure necessary abutter easements and that the town would prefer the landowner install and maintain his own culvert sleeve rather than rely on a town culvert. Selectman Evelyn Duncan moved to add an easement for Rhodeen’s OBD pipe under Indian Point Road, with specifications meeting town road‑cut standards; the motion passed 3‑1‑1 (Brewer opposed; Steed abstained).

Board members noted the town’s concern about future liability if a privately installed discharge interferes with town drainage, and they emphasized that any inclusion on the warrant requires Rhodeen to secure property easements and meet technical specifications.
