Hart County commissioners approve equipment purchases, loans and appointments in June 23 meeting

At its June 23 meeting the Hart County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine and programmatic items: purchase of 50 portable radios for the fire department (price cited at about $729 per radio) and two blast/containment cabinets for breathing‑air maintenance at a quoted total of $24,591.88; both purchases were funded from SPLOST 6 and approved by unanimous voice votes.

The board also agreed to continue funding a revolving‑loan request for CD Controls/Industrial Properties of Georgia LLC to support a plant expansion and new jobs, contingent on approval from the Joint Development Authority. In recreation business the board voted to throw out bids for the batting‑cage carpet replacement (staff cited a roughly $20,000 bid) and to add the Hart County High School athletic director as a non‑voting, ex‑officio member of the recreation advisory board with an alternate designee.

Appointments and proclamations: the board reappointed Vivian Davis to the defects board (5‑0) and approved a proclamation honoring resident Doris Mahana on her 110th birthday.
