Denton County Commissioners Court on Tuesday approved a set of procurement actions intended to support transportation and public-safety operations.
The court awarded ITB262916 for turn improvements on U.S. 377 at Fish Trap and Liberty to Quality Excavation; commissioners said the project will relieve congestion at those intersections and is an early phase of a larger multiyear effort.
The court also approved the purchase of 19 APX N70 portable radios from Motorola Solutions (Houston-Galveston contract) for $162,596.49 and two uninterruptible power supplies from Flare Data Systems for $17,658.68 through the DIR cooperative contract.
Commissioners approved the items by unanimous voice vote. Commissioner Williams said the US 377 project will provide "quick relief" from congestion while longer-term work continues.
Separately, the court discussed a proposed change order to the Mark43 records-management system to add AI modules (brief AI and report AI) for $132,000; several commissioners asked for additional information and the item was pulled and placed on hold pending further briefing.
Next steps: procurement staff will proceed with contracts and purchases; the Mark43 change order will return to a future agenda after staff provides requested details.
