The Greene County Solid Waste Management District board voted to adopt the county’s paid-time-off (PTO) policy for its full-time employees.
The Chair explained the county consolidated sick and vacation leave into a single PTO bank so employees use the time off for any purpose. The Chair said the new policy “works out about the same as what things used to be,” and noted it may be slightly more generous in years two through five of employment. A copy of the existing policy will be circulated to board members and potential changes discussed later.
Board members asked how many employees the policy would affect; the Chair and others indicated the district has three or four part-time positions and that the PTO adoption only applies to full-time employees. The board moved to adopt the county PTO policy for the solid-waste district and recorded a voice vote in favor.
The adoption aligns the district staff policy with county rules; board members did not specify any changes to PTO accrual schedules at the meeting.
