Salary commission moves meetings to third Wednesday at noon

The College Place Salary Commission on June 24 voted to move its regular monthly meeting to the third Wednesday at 12:00 p.m., citing scheduling conflicts that made the original first-week time difficult for staff to attend.

Miss Holm raised the scheduling problem, saying the human resources manager is routinely tied up with payroll during the first-week meeting window and asked the commission to consider another week. "The second or the third Wednesday would be preferable," Miss Holm said.

Commissioner Jessica Benzel moved to change the meeting date to the third Wednesday at noon; the motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote. The commission recorded a quorum at the meeting and the vote was adopted without further amendment.

The new schedule is intended to improve staff availability for future meetings; the commission did not identify additional procedural changes. The meeting adjourned at 12:23 p.m.
