At its June meeting, the La Grange Park village board approved a series of motions and resolutions by unanimous roll-call votes.
Major items approved or acted on included:
- Consent agenda: Approval of minutes, water and sewer ordinance amendments exempting units of local government from late fees, a cooperative payment resolution with the community park district, and authorization for signatories on payroll and accounts payable registers (motion carried unanimously).
- Police roll-call and reporting room renovations: The board approved a waiver of the local competitive procurement process and authorized a vendor contract with FH Passion SN Neielson Associates LLC for renovation work at the police facility, with a not-to-exceed amount of $139,495; trustees said the rooms have not been updated in decades.
- Rejection of bids for the 2026 North Village Hall Green parking lot: Staff recommended rejecting all bids after all offers exceeded the engineer’s estimate; trustees agreed to rebid the project as part of the larger road bond program to improve contractor interest and pricing.
- 2026 roadway bond professional services agreement: The board approved a professional services agreement with Hancock Engineering for the road bond paving program, including $146,800 for design engineering services and a not-to-exceed amount of $128,400 for construction engineering services. The road bond fund reportedly has $500,000 allocated for these services.
Roll-call votes recorded Trustees Lner, Zora, Council, Sheen and Caputo voting yes, with President Dipio also voting yes; Trustee Daperio was recorded absent. Several trustees said they looked forward to the upcoming construction season and noted that bond-funded projects will start later this summer.
Additional committee reports and finance updates for the first month of the fiscal year were presented and accepted.
