The council opened a public hearing on Ordinance 248, which adds Chapter 157 (Property Maintenance) to the city code. City Clerk Jessica Lasack reviewed the second reading; no written or oral objections were recorded. Councilmember Deppe moved and Siebels seconded to approve the second reading and waive the third reading. The motion passed on a roll call vote with all members recorded as voting yes.
Shortly afterward the council opened a hearing on Ordinance 249, amending section 92.07 on written notice. Clerk Lasack conducted the first reading; no objections were received. Council also approved Resolution 2026‑01 (Committees and Appointments) on a motion by Deppe, seconded by Siebels, and Resolution 2026‑02 (Loan Transfers for FY 2025‑26) on a motion by Siebels, seconded by Rottman; both passed by unanimous roll call votes.
On a motion by Rottman, seconded by Siebels, the council approved a liquor license application for Dollar General Corp.; the vote was unanimous.
