Trustees discussed timing for goal‑setting language; the contract as approved specifies goals will be established and reduced to writing on or prior to Sept. 1 of each succeeding year, though trustees expressed interest in moving that date earlier to align with the evaluation cycle.
A motion to approve the amended contract passed unanimously among trustees present. Trustees noted the 4.7% increase is slightly below the district’s average negotiated increase (board referenced a 4.85% average figure) and discussed equity with respect to the wider staff body.
Next steps: the amended contract takes effect July 1 for the new term; trustees and the superintendent will work to set written goals and objectives for the upcoming evaluation cycle.
