Wareham board authorizes planning director to sign planning bills up to $25,000

The Wareham Planning Board voted unanimously on June 22 to authorize the planning director to review, approve and sign departmental bills, invoices, payment vouchers and related warrants for planning board activities up to $25,000, provided funds are appropriated and procurement rules are followed.

Board members discussed how payments over the $25,000 threshold would be handled. The planning director and members agreed that larger bills should return to the board, accompanied by minutes and signatory documentation; members asked staff to formalize that procedure and place it on the record.

The motion passed with all present voting in favor. The board directed staff to draft a follow‑up motion or written policy clarifying the process for amounts exceeding $25,000.
