The SRLJC heard a proposal for a Justice Management Institute (JMI) review of the county’s criminal justice data systems and processes.
Robin, representing JMI, said the review will map the data systems used across agencies, identify points where information is still paper‑based or exchanged by email, and recommend both low‑cost fixes and larger technology or process changes. "We're waiting for the Board of County Commissioners to approve the contract," Robin said; the team proposed an initial site visit for April 28–29 and asked county staff to identify operational and IT contacts for interviews.
Rebecca said she will be the county’s project manager, and attendees suggested including municipal courts, small jurisdictions and court clerks where appropriate, provided scope and price do not change. Robin said the review would produce a findings report and implementation planning for recommended changes.
Participants named possible collaborators and data sources that JMI would consider, including Carter Goble & Lee, the Vera Institute and local court staff. The group asked that JMI include scheduling and officer assignment workflows where they intersect with court appearances and case handling.
Next steps: the county will seek commissioners’ approval of a resolution to authorize the contract and finalize the JMI site‑visit schedule and stakeholder list.
