The Stillwater Area Public Schools Board on Tuesday approved a preliminary all-funds budget for fiscal year 2026'27, with the board's presenter describing the general fund as "just shy of $156.9 million." Superintendent Funk and budget staff presented the figures during the meeting and the board voted to adopt the preliminary budget by voice/raise-of-hand vote.
The presenter (identified in the record as Marie) outlined fund-by-fund projections: food service revenue was reported at about $8.5 million with expenditures roughly $8.4 million, leaving a small projected increase in that fund; community service revenue was reported at about $10.5 million with planned expenditures around $10.9 million, a projected decrease in that fund; and debt service revenue and expenditures were discussed in the context of planned bond schedules. The presenter said there is no planned change to the general fund balance for 2026'27 and that bond proceeds will be used for building construction projects carried forward from the current year.
The board moved and seconded the motion to approve the preliminary budget. With no substantive questions from board members, the motion passed by voice vote.
Board members thanked staff for responding to questions and confirmed that the budget documents will be posted to the district website per usual practice. The district will return later as needed to finalize budgets and present a full year plan.
